Castellabate is located between the ancient Greek city of Velia and Paestum, falls within the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, in the Marine Park protected area-toe-toe Licosa Tresino. E 'World Heritage Site for its historical center and from 1999 continuously receives the Blue Flag for its limpid waters.
The territory is divided into fractions of Castellabate San Marco, Santa Maria, Marina and Lake Ogliastro
Castellabate is built around a medieval castle built in 1123 by Abbot Costabile Gentilcore.
San Marco is rich in archaeological remains such as ancient Roman port.
Santa Maria is the most populated village of the territory and popular destination for beach activities.
Ogliastro marina in Punta Licosa are the most important ecological oasis of the entire coastal Cilento.
Lake area reclaimed in 1138 by Benedictine monks arrire, has a beach of fine golden sand.
