Cantarana is the name of the village where we live. It spreads for many kilometers around the little village centre, and is divided in small agglomerates of houses and farms scattered on the surrounding hills among woods and meadows and bound by paths sometimes practicable only on foot. The etymology of the name Cantarana indicates a 'place with plenty of water', in fact near the BeB there is the Bonoma spring which supplies Asti with water. We (4 people, 3 dog and 3 cats) moved to Cantarana from Turin in 1995 and are living in that which was named the 'Barber house', an early twentieth-century Piedmontese farmhouse we restored.


Our BeB is the right place to relax and enjoy nature as all around on the hills you can have beautiful sights and nice walks on foot or by bycicle or, why not, on horseback. It is also the ideal starting-point for a cultural and wine/gastronomic visit of Southern Piedmont. In fact Cantarana is very close to the most famous wine producing areas of Piedmont: Monferrato, Astigiano, Langhe and Roero, and we will indicate you the best wine shops and wine producers of the zone.

The home-made bread and cakes and the products of the orchard (possibly biological) or taken from the neighbouring farms will offer you a natural and abundant breakfast that will be served in the wide terrace during the warm season or otherwise in the comfortable breakfast-room.

From Torino:
Take the southern by-pass road , direction Piacenza, and at the entrance gate of the Torino-Piacenza motorway, keep the right and exit at Villanova d'Asti, prosecute on the main road called SS.10 towards Asti for approx. 10 kms, at Villafranca d'Asti follow direction 'Ferrere' turning on the right, prosecute for 1 km then turn left to Cantarana. Right after the Pizzeria, turn on the right following direction 'Acquedotto della Bonoma/Torrazzo' (approx 2 kms) .
At the junction for Torrazzo prosecute until the second house on the left (BeB signs will help you). Welcome to our home!

From Asti:
On the A-21 Torino-Piacenza motorway, exit at the gate 'Asti Ovest', turn right towards Torino. Follow the main road called SS10 Asti-Torino for about 10 kms till you will see the sign 'Cantarana'.
Turn to left and prosecute for 2 kms; passed the village centre turn to left again following direction 'Acquedotto della Bonoma/Torrazzo' (approx 2 kms) . At the junction for Torrazzo prosecute until the second house on the left (BeB signs will help you).

You can also easily reach us by train. The railway station VILLAFRANCA-CANTARANA is about 4 kms far from our BeB and upon agreement we will be pleased to pick you up there.
