Within a green oasis and only a few steps away from the sea, the Villa Pagoda was built in an Oriental style by a wealthy merchant from Genoa. He had fallen in love with a Chinese girl during one of his voyages in the early 18th century. During its 200 years of existence the Villa, with its eastern character, was frequently witness to eccentric lifestyles. It became a meeting place for famous personalities and magnificent festivals. The interior of the Villa with its antique furniture, precious fabrics, impressive Murano chandelier and the original Carrara marble floors brings alive the past fantasy of merchants and travellers.
